Impala Alley

A long exposure photograph looking down a street at an angle. Old buildings can be seen lining the street. A light is shining from out of the frame illuminating the buildings at an angle. The buildings have ornate balconies with windows. Some of the lights are on in the windows. In the foreground parked in front of the nearest building is a vintage 1950s 4 door car with horizontal fins and horizontal tear drop shaped taillights. In front of the car is a dumpster full of garbage. There is a quiet yet mysterious mood to the scene.

About:

See the page for Fidel to get a bit of the back story on my trip to Cuba.

I walked by this 1959 Impala a few times during the day and kept logging a mental note to come back at night. I've always really liked the 4 door hardtop/flattop GM body style. Its not a body style you see often.

I'm very pleased with the way this photograph came out, its one of my personal favorites in this series. 1950s American cars are such a cliche for Cuba photos, but it's a cliche for a reason!
