Tower

A long exposure photograph of a tower shaped building. The building includes a movie theater marquee on the front, below the tower. The top of the tower features two bisecting rectangular structures making a plus or x if viewed from the top. Below the plus structure the tower become cylindrical. Each face of the rectangle has the word "tower" shown in neon lights. The word is displayed vertically in all capital letters. The edges of the rectangular structures are lined with thin neon lights down the length. Where the tower becomes cylindrical, the neon lines go around the circumference horizontally. The movies listed on the marque are "Ladybird" and "Thoroughbreds". In the foreground palm trees can be seen along with faint outlines of other trees.

About:

Most viewers at this exhibition will immediately recognize this place. The Tower Theater is a local celebrity of a building. I took this photo while my wife and I were just visiting Sacramento, before we took the plunge and moved here.

It was lucky timing that the theater was showing Ladybird, a movie directed by another Sacramento celebrity. The combination makes this my "most Sacramento" photo ever.

We ended up seeing Thoroughbreds because we had already seen Ladybird.
